
Grace C. Wright, MD, PhD, is a clinical associate professor of medicine and attending rheumatologist at the New York University (NYU) Langone Medical Center in New York City. Prior to her current appointment, Dr. Wright served as an assistant professor of clinical medicine at NYU School of Medicine. Dr. Wright received her undergraduate degree at Columbia University, graduating magna cum laude in 1983, and earned her medical and doctorate degrees at NYU School of Medicine in 1990. She then completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in rheumatology at the NYU Medical Center. Dr. Wright is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. She is the recipient of the Helen R. Downes Award for academic distinction and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. Dr. Wright has research and clinical interest in the management and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other rheumatic diseases, osteoporosis, and systemic lupus erythematosus. She has served as a principal or co-principal investigator of several clinical trials. Dr. Wright has given numerous professional lectures on such topics as aggressive treatment options for rheumatoid arthritis, management and treatment options for systemic lupus, emerging therapeutics for patients with connective tissue diseases, and imaging modalities in the management of rheumatic diseases. Dr. Wright is a certified fellow and member of the American College of Rheumatology. She has authored or co-authored articles appearing in such journals as the Journal of Clinical Investigation, the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Clinical Research, and Progress in Clinical and Biological Research. She currently serves as the President of the Association of Women in Rheumatology.
